NOTE: You are unable to meet Cookie until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Cookie in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.


What I need in my new home:
• I am a sensitive and timid little soul, I will require a quiet household (with no kids) and a patient family/person who will allow my personality to blossom in my own time and discover the world isn't such a big scary place
• Once I am settled and my confidence grows - regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie companion would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I was scared when meeting cats at the Shelter so i should be ok going to a home with a cat as long as they a dog friendly.
• Secure home & fencing with no gaps/holes as I could squeeze through even the tiniest holes/gaps, especially if frightened
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence

Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children due to my shy, timid and flighty nature

My best features:
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once i get to know you and am comfortable, I love to jump into your lap and roll my little face into you for love
• Food motivated (with high value treaties)
• Gentle & placid

• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood, it is recommended that I be walked in a harness to prevent hurting my little throat/neck
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
