About Bonnie
Bonnie is a great natured girl. She is clever and very responsive. She sits and waits to be told to eat her dinner.
Bonnie is curious, alert, playful and loves one-on-one attention. She likes the beach (although not the water!). If bored she can be a little mischievous but loves her toys; when she gets excited she will immediately grab one of her soft toys and prance around with it. Bonnie also enjoys getting treats out of her Kong.
Bonnie relishes her daily walks. She can pull a bit on the lead but has improved and a handler used to larger dogs should find her no problem. She is friendly when out on walks toward people and polite dogs although isn't always keen on dogs rushing up to her. She will alert her household by barking when strangers approach the door. Bonnie is happiest when someone is around all the time so would suit fit and active retirees, someone working from home or a household where there is someone home most of the time.
Bonnie is a bit of a diva in terms of sharing whether it be people or food! So she is a great choice for those who only want one pet in their lives. She hasn’t been around many children but is gentle with her carer’s 4yo niece. She has no idea, however of her size and strength (she thinks she’s a lap dog) so would need to be monitored around smaller children, and would most likely be better suited to an adult only home, or one with older kids or teens. She’s a good sleeper, doesn’t snore, and travels well in the car. She especially likes sitting on the couch with ‘her people’ in the evening.
Bonnie does have sensitive skin which can present in itchiness. We are addressing this by diet, regular baths, and medication. We’re still experimenting with food and meds, but will be able to give any adopter a history of what’s been trialed and how she responded.
Bonnie is a great girl who gives back your care in spades. Her happy, loyal and sometimes quirky ways make her uniquely Bonnie! If you would like to enquire about her please click Apply to Adopt and follow the prompts to our enquiry form.
