About Slinky - 1.5 Year Old Dachshund X Aus Shepherd
Meet Slinky! This 1.5-year-old, 10kg Dachshund x Australian Shepherd mix is ready to find his forever home.
He’s your perfect combination of love and play! He’s smart, goofy, playful and snuggly!
Slinky is highly food-motivated, and his smart breed mix makes him a quick learner. Training has been a breeze—he already knows how to sit, shake, lie down, and wait for a command before eating his food. His recall is also improving daily. With someone dedicated to his continued training, Slinky is sure to become a smart, loyal companion.
Currently living in foster care with two other dogs, Slinky loves to play but can be a bit full-on, not always knowing when to dial it back. Because of this, he’d thrive as the only dog, saving his playtime and socialising for walks. As well as kids over 10 years old.
Slinky loves getting out and about for walks, exploring the world through his nose, and chasing a ball at the park. At home, he enjoys digging into the toy basket to find something to chew or play with before crashing out for a big snooze in his bed.
At night, Slinky sleeps in his own bed in his foster carer’s room, though he’ll occasionally try his luck at snuggling in the people bed! He is toilet trained and uses the doggy door like a pro.
Slinky would be best suited to a household that can provide the exercise and stimulation his breed mix requires—plenty of walks, training, and making him a true part of the family.

Slinky is in foster care in Broadmeadow, NSW. Adoption fee is $600. He is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
(2) If the questionnaire is approved we will arrange a property check so we
can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) After that we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster
carer's home, nearby park or your home.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family
member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
