About Daisy - 3 Year Old Jack Russell Terrier
Daisy is a beautiful, loving, healthy and energetic young girl. She loves to be around people and loves to play, run, cuddle and hide shoes. Daisy knows how to sit but is still learning basic commands and is very food driven.
Given her breed, she loves to jump and chase which is why she absolutely cannot be living with birds (indoor or outdoor), chickens or small animals. She has a very high prey drive and can get where she wants to be within seconds and she will not let go so even with good fencing she will find a way and will not be able to be rehomed to a household with chickens, ducks, pocket pets or birds at all.
Daisy loves to run super fast and needs a lot of exercise to get all that energy out of her (2 walks a day are a must!) but she equally loves to cuddle up on the couch and on the bed at the end of the day once all of this energy is burnt. She wants to be close and needs to always be part of the family. She currently sleeps on the bed with us or on the floor right outside the bedroom door when it is shut, in her new home she needs to be allowed to sleep indoors and close to her family, not in a laundry or a crate. Daisy is a great travel companion too and settles very easily in the car enjoying the ride (and head rubs if available).
Daisy is TERRIFIED of thunderstorms and needs a lot of affection when these happen. Her favourite spot is either under your bed or your pillow where she feels the safest.
She is not one to be locked up in a crate, she is small but very strong and determined (and with a strong voice if she is upset) and will make sure she gets out of it so if you are looking for a dog you can crate train and lock up, Daisy isn't your girl, she likes her freedom and independence.
She has been living with two young and loud kids (aged 3 and 7) and can be very sweet and gentle with them, accepting cuddles, belly rubs and pats on tap and gives lots of love back, however when she gets excited or needs attention, she has been heal nipping and jumped so young kids are not recommended around er permanently. The heal nipping is also reserved for her favourite person in the house and needs attention and continued training.
Overall, Daisy would love an active home with people around more often than not who love her for her energy and all the love she likes to give. She is a confident dog who gets along well with most dogs however due to more than one bad experience with resident dogs not accepting her which ended in a failed adoption, we are now looking for a home where she can be a spoiled single dog who gets the attention she deserves and isn't exposed to jealousy from any existing dogs.
Daisy is in foster care in Quorrobolong, NSW, and is available for adoption interstate. Her adoption fee is $600. She is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.
