About Sherlock
Meet Sherlock — the lanky legend with a heart of gold
Sherlock isn’t just another rescue dog… he’s a certified goofball with endless curiosity and an Olympic talent for tripping over his own legs. After beating parvovirus as a pup, he’s grown into a strong, clever, and irresistibly loving sidekick who’s as good at making you laugh as he is at keeping you company.
He’s the kind of dog who can turn an ordinary day into an episode of pure comedy. One minute he’s trying to fit all 45 kg of himself onto your lap; the next, he’s having a “deep conversation” that sounds somewhere between a yodel and a whale song. Life with Sherlock is never boring — and that’s exactly the point.
Beneath the goof is a big-hearted, easygoing boy who loves a bit of affection, clear boundaries, and humans who take the lead. Like any cheeky teenager, he’ll test the rules now and then (mostly just to make sure you’re paying attention), but give him structure, consistency, and plenty of fun, and he’ll be your loyal shadow through it all.
With his spotty coat, floppy Mickey Mouse ears, and soulful eyes, Sherlock turns heads everywhere he goes. People constantly ask, “What breed is he?” (Short answer: no idea ,, possibly part clown, part kangaroo.) What’s not a mystery is what he’s after: a family who’ll laugh at his antics and love him for the goof he is. Sherlock’s ready to find his forever home — one that loves a good laugh, a comfy couch, and a big, goofy heart to share it all with.
My Ideal Home:
Sherlock’s a lanky lad who needs space to stretch his legs, so apartment life isn’t his vibe. A home with a yard to roam, nap, and roll around in would be just right. He’s pretty independent but also loves company , whether it’s a human to hang with or another dog to wrestle and share his toys (and sunny spots) with.
His ideal match? Someone who enjoys a bit of adventure - bush walks, a splash in the sea, weekend café hangs - but also appreciates a lazy afternoon in the sun. Sherlock thrives with a mix of guidance and good times — a home where he’s part of the fun and part of the family.
My Energy Level:
Sherlock is the perfect mix of playful pup and chill companion. He still has bursts of puppy energy throughout the day, but he’s also a dedicated nap enthusiast — truly the best of both worlds. He thrives on routine and consistency. After a sniffy walk, a wrestle with a doggy mate, or a few enrichment games, he’s more than happy to flop down with his favourite toy for a well-earned snooze. And when it’s bedtime? He sleeps through the night like a dream.
My Suitability to Children:
Sherlock has been great with the kids he’s met so far and could happily live with children — as long as they’re sturdy and dog-savvy. Due to his size and occasional clumsiness, he might accidentally bump smaller kids, but he’s gentle, patient, and loves being part of the family action.
My Suitability to Other Cats or Dogs:
Sherlock’s a social butterfly who loves the company of other dogs and easily adapts his play style to suit his mates. Whether it’s a gentle sniff or an all-out wrestle, he knows how to make friends. In his previous foster home, he was exposed to cats — curious at first, he tried to play but quickly learned to respect boundaries.
