About Bowie
Rescue Hub’s Assisted Adoption.
Bowie is one of Rescue Hub’s assisted adoption dogs.
This means that he is still living with his current owner while we help search for his new perfect home.
(Bowie is now in temporary foster care through his owners arrangement as he can no longer stay in their home - he needs a new home urgently as the foster arrangement is only short term)
🐾 Breed: Mastiff x Staffy
👦 Gender: Male
🏥 Health: Desexed, vaccinated and worm and flea treated
🐕 Animal companions: Needs to be the only dog in the home for now. Fear/Lead reactive to other dogs on walks due to past trauma (training was commenced to help and should be continued). Cat friendly and could live with a cat in the home.
👧🏻 Kids: Good around kids! Hasn’t had much experience around younger kids, so ages of 10+yrs preferred
📍 Location: Newcastle, NSW
With his cute little ears and eyes that stare right into your soul, Bowie will have you calling him ‘bestest’ boy in no time!
He is a dog that really doesn’t ask for much - just a daily walk at a quiet time of the day, a comfortable and safe space to take his naps, and time with you!
He enjoys any interaction with his humans, whether it be a game of throwing his rope, sitting together while chewing on his bone, or his absolute favourite - bonding over scratches and cuddles.
Bowie loves to be involved in all of his guardians daily activities, following you around like a shadow (did someone say new best friend!?)
The perfect home for Bowie would be one where he is an only dog, as he has had some past trauma and is dog reactive. He has received training in this area recently, and was showing good signs of improvement. With continued training, and a dedicated and patient new guardian who understands dogs with past trauma and triggers, Bowies reactivity will be something that can be worked on.
Bowie has happily lived in a home with cats, so having a feline friend could be a possibility!
This clever boy is toilet trained and was previously crate trained (currently sleeping on a bed outside his foster parents room). Being inside with his human companions would definitely be something Bowie would love the opportunity to continue.
After having such a tough experience over the last few months, we want to get Bowie into the perfect home. If you think you could be his perfect match, please submit an application.
