About Poppy - 2 Year Old Pug X Beagle
Are you ready to get all the love, cuddles and kisses? Poppy is a very smart, happy, go lucky girl who has so much love to give her humans and would be a fabulous companion to another furry friend her own size and we have noted she bonds better with female dogs.
She’ll be your little sidekick, your best friend and the best snuggler you’ll ever meet!
Poppy is looking for a forever home preferably with someone that is home more often than not. She would benefit from having a companion dog but we do feel that she has the personality to be alone. Poppy does have a little anxiety but being in foster care over the past 5 weeks she has really come out of her shell. She loves playing with her fury foster siblings and loves going to the dog park to meet new friends both human and furry. She can be a little stand offish toward males both human and dogs but has been getting better with every visitor and visit to the dog park or beach. Poppy is on anti-anxiety medication currently but we feel she could be taken off the medication in the right home.
Poppy is a very intelligent young girl who knows how to sit, stay and wait. She is very responsive to training and commands and is food orientated. Poppy is a very friendly happy girl and can sometimes show her excitement with jumping however with ongoing training she will master the exercise of being calm.
Currently Poppy is living with 2 other dogs in her foster home and she just loves to play all day with her foster friends. She does love the chew toys but is not a digger or escape artist. Being only small at 9 kilos she’s a little pocket rocket and loves socializing at the park and meeting a lot of different dogs of all shapes and sizes. Poppy will happily say hello, have a sniff and maybe a little play then comes back to you for reassurance. Poppy has great recall.
Poppy loves a good long walk, stopping along the way to meet others and or have a sniff. She is not a lover of water or the beach but may not have been introduced much in her previous life. She’s happy to walk with you at the beach but is a little frightened of the crashing sound of the waves.
If you are looking for a best friend to go everywhere with you, she’s the one!
Poppy is in foster care in Mayfield NSW, and she is not available for interstate adoption. She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms. Adoption fee is $700.

Poppy does have a little anxiety but being in foster care over the past 3 weeks she has really come out of her shell and as long as she has a friend to play with she has not shown any anxious traits. Poppy is on anti-anxiety medication and has repeat prescriptions.
