About Rio
Rio is a sweet natured, gentle soul who needs understanding and love to help him adjust to a new life. He definitely needs to be with another sensible dog, he's never been alone and was fretting for his canine friends. He does love his humans and loves to be close to them.
Rio is a four year old Toy Poodle who through no fault of his own has come to us and is now looking for a new forever home. He can be a little timid with strangers and sudden movements.
Rio's papers say he is a Toy Poodle but he measures 35cm at the shoulder which is more like a Miniature.
Although Rio has a naturally quiet gentle nature we think he also misses his previous doggy friends. In his foster home he has two small dogs to keep him company and he is very respectful of them, we think he is OK with cats too. He barks when we arrive home but otherwise rarely barks.
Rio enjoys a daily walk but is not very confident. He is gaining confidence with practice. He is fine with car travel. He is house trained, sleeps on our bed and uses the doggy door. Unfortunately he has some issues with eating. More about this if you are interested in Rio.
We think he will suit a retired couple or person, with a sensible dog friend. Active children are probably not a good idea, older children may be OK.
So if you have the time and understanding to help this special boy settle into a new home, and love poodles and quiet sweet natured dogs, please send in an application.
