Meet Perry! 🐾

Perry is a pint-sized dynamo packed with love, personality, and charm! This tiny little guy has a heart as big as his dreams, and he’s looking for a forever home where he can be the star of the show.

Perry loves meeting new people and will happily introduce himself to anyone and everyone. His curious nose leads the way on outdoor adventures as he snuffles for treasures hidden in the grass. While his walks are short and sweet right now (about 200-300 meters over 30 minutes), he’s destined to become a full-fledged explorer as he grows!

When Perry is relaxed, he loves to “sploot” on his belly, his little back feet stretched out behind him, wiggling adorably across the floor. He also delights in chasing his tail in a dramatic display of wiggles and spins—he is pure entertainment!

Smart, Cheeky, and Playful
Perry is one clever pup who loves testing boundaries and keeping his humans on their toes. He’s quick to learn but equally quick to pretend he didn’t hear you when it suits him—classic dachshund charm! He’s currently working on a few puppy quirks, like:

- Not eating dirt (we’re getting there!).
- Learning to keep his light mouthing in check when he’s overstimulated.
- Getting comfortable being alone in a room.

With positive reinforcement and patient guidance, Perry is sure to keep blossoming into a well-mannered little gentleman.

Perry’s Dream Home
Perry needs a family that can match his energy, love, and cheekiness! His ideal home will include:

- Grass Access: Whether it’s a small backyard or a nearby patch in a shared area, Perry prefers to do his business on grass.
- Stair-Free Living: Dachshunds aren’t built for stairs, so Perry’s humans must be prepared to carry him up and down.
- Engagement & Playtime: Perry thrives on interaction and loves tug-of-war, chasing toys, and zooming around during playtime. He’s still learning to self-regulate his sleep, so quiet, calm moments are a must.

He’s adapted beautifully to apartment life but demands regular outdoor breaks—less mess indoors and more adventures outdoors!

Good with Kids & Pets
Perry has met children a few times and mirrored their enthusiasm for play. With supervision and continued training, he’d make a great companion for kids who are taught to respect his space.

As for other pets, Perry’s fostering with two cats and, after some initial excitement and barking, has learned to coexist peacefully. He’s shown interest in dogs but can be picky about his canine friends. A slow introduction and a friendly match will help him thrive in a multi-pet household.
