Meet Maxie

Abandoned at the ripe old age of 15 because her previous family decided that the "no longer wanted a dog".

Max came to us in horrendous condition. She required an urgent groom to relieve her of fur so matted that it was causing pain. Max's teeth were so rotten they were practically falling out, she had an untreated skin condition that was sore with open wounds. She is deaf, partially blind and has a heart murmur. We don't know how long Maxie has left but we do know that she deserves the best retirement home with a wonderful family that will spoil her like the little Queen she is.

Max LOVES getting out and about - she is a resilient dog that has shown her true personality since having all of her medical work completed. Her favorite thing is digging around in a big fluffy bed and acting goofy.

She may be suitable to live in a home with other doggy companions, though probably won't appreciate a energetic youngster, also young children and possibly even cats pending some nice slow introductions - she isn't fussy, she just wants a home to call her own and a big cosy bed to snooze away the day.

We cannot express what a lovely lady Maxie is despite all of the hardship and mistreatment she has endured.
