About Phoenix
Hi, My name is Phoenix, and I'm a cutie - my foster mum says so!!
I have come in from a private surrender where there was an accidental litter.
I am a 5-month-old Cavalier King Charles, and I have a Grade 2 heart murmur
Grade 2 is faint, but your doctor can hear it with a stethoscope.
The rescue is ensuring all the rest of my vet work including desexing is completed as well!
I have a brother as well Apollo - he is up for adoption already. My foster mum says while I am timid meeting new people I am a lot braver them my brother and I'm ready for some fun and love.
My foster mum has said food is a good motivator for me! but also, some patience.
I am currently living with some other dogs, and I do enjoy that - there is dogs of all shapes, sizes, age and personality and I get to play with some and others to snuggle with.
My foster mum has said that it's a must that there is another dog at my new home who will help me with my confidence and play. Having another dog that lives in the home and will mentor me is a must - please do not apply if you dont' have another dog - this is a requirement for Phoenix
I can be very shy when meeting new people or in new situations but if you give me a few minutes to get my bearings and get comfortable.
Once I'm comfortable with you my little happy go lucky personality shines thru and I absolutely love to have cuddles and play - my foster mum says that i am a cuddle bug
I have been learning to sit when I have my dinner, and my foster mum says I’m getting there slowly... but you know I have foster siblings, and something could be yummier in their bowl.
I currently live with a preteen boy who I don't mind and my foster mum who I love to bomb with cuddles on the couch and also play
My foster mum says I have a sweet but cheeky little personality when I am confident and settled in my home.
I am 90% toilet trained but I am getting there.
Currently my foster mum works from home a few days a week and the rest we spend our day having access inside and out playing to our hearts are content while she works – we do love being able to curl up in her office and have a snooze.
And when she's gone, we play and play and play and then crash to sleep! I do have access to a crate but the door stays open - and I like having that - my foster mum calls it my safe space without being crated!
I am still learning about the tv and have been known to bark and tell my opinion on a tv show - my foster mum says that while it's great I'm showing confidence sometimes she tells me no more.
My foster mum says as my confidence grow she can see me learning to walk on a lead and go out for adventures
I sleep inside sometimes in my open crate, other times on the couch or other times on a dog bed - I'm pretty content to just chose my bed location each night.
I am not cat tested but I’m also really young so this is something that should be easily taught to me (don’t chase)
I love to have a play outside in the grass (wet as well) and then come in and have a good cuddle
If you're looking for a young girl who needs a chance to grow and gain more confidence, then please don't hesitate to apply - I would love my furever family and blossom like my foster mum says I will!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
