About Cody
Hi, I am Cody, lovely to meet you!
I am a very affectionate, very trusting little fella. I am looking for a very specific family, and I hope that is you.
I love my foster mum so much, when she is not with me or I cannot see her I get stressed sometimes. I have learnt that my crate is my safe space and take myself there to relax when the world gets overwhelming. I would like to be provided a safe space where I can go and relax.
I would love a home where I am the centre of attention. I have never had any incidents with other dogs, they just do not benefit me and sometimes scare me because I am so small.
I love meeting new people, and getting cuddles and scratches, as long as I am not approached too quickly.
I am quite stubborn, I refuse to wee outside like a normal dog, I require pee pads provided in areas I can access regularly.
I love nothing more than cuddling up on the couch or in bed with foster mum and getting pats, I do not like my ears, feet or tail touched though. I will let you know if I am uncomfortable, I hope you can respect my boundaries.
I would love to go to a home where I can be apart of a family, where my needs are met and I am not forced to be something I am not. I am amazing as myself, I hope that is enough for you.
I get overwhelmed quickly, like when the vacuum tries to suck the house up or a step ladder gets in the way of my usual path. I will tell you if I am unhappy. I sometimes also pretend I can’t get up on the couch and will complain until you pick me up, but that’s just one of my games.
I do not enjoy car rides, the vets or dog parks. I would love a home that is a calm environment where I can continue to build my confidence. But, I do not think I am a handbag dog who enjoys coffee trips.
I can offer a lot of love, affection and entertainment, I get the zoomies often, but because I am so small I don’t really go very far. I also sing along with the television, I am working on being in tune, but it is very passionate.
I will never leave your side, and be your trusty companion, I will always have your back.
If you think you are able to offer me a safe and calm home, and are willing to learn my quirks, please send an application and I cannot wait to meet you.
Medical notes
Medical Notes for Cody
20 month old Cody is desexed and microchipped. He is up to date with vaccinations as well as flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
Cody has a previous injury to his tail which he doesn’t like being touched. We have thoroughly checked it out and because it doesn’t affect his walking, toileting and day to day activities, the specialist recommends leaving it alone. He also has some mild hip dysplasia.
Cody can be an anxious boy, and has trialled some medications to help, however we believe in the right environment without other large dogs around he will be fine.
We recommend putting Cody on a joint support supplement to help with his hips as he ages.
