About Oscar
Meet Oscar
Oscar is a stunning tan medium-haired dachshund looking for his forever home. He was surrendered into DCH care by a breeder who could no longer care for him. However, his previous owner and her family lovingly cared for him which is why Oscar has a sweet nature.
Oscar is friendly and cuddly once he gets to know you. He approaches all strangers with some reservation but once he meets you and understands that you are a friend, he will come in for that first pat and cuddle. He likes dry and wet dog food. He likes to play with balls and tug-of-war toys. He likes waters and enjoys the water, making baths easy. He will jump into a kiddie pool if set up and enjoys jumping into the surf at the beach.
He will bark at birds and other unknown animals if they enter the property. He will also let you know if any strangers enter the property, making him a good alarm system. However, if he understands that the person is a friend to the family, he becomes friendly to them. Oscar is friendly and gentle with adults and children alike. He is quiet normally and does not destroy clothing, shoes or furniture. He is an indoors and outdoors dog. However, he is ingenious at finding ways to explore outside the home so he will need a backyard that is properly fenced to prevent him from going onto the road.
Oscar would suit a young family or any household looking for a sweet, cuddly, loyal dog. He is available to join his forever family from 26 January 2025 (after he is desexed). If you are seeking a beautiful, loyal, sweet dog who loves the water, then Oscar would love to meet you.
