About Rosie
Meet Rosie
Rosie is a friendly, cuddly black & tan short-haired dachshund looking for her forever family. She was surrendered into DCH care by a breeder who could no longer take care of her. However, she was lovingly looked after by her previous owner and her family which is why Rosie has such a sweet temperament.
Rosie is friendly to hoomans - adults and children alike. She loves pats and cuddles and will push your hand or flip on her back to encourage you to pat her if you don't look busy. She walks well, walking in-step with you and not pull on her leash. She likes walks as well as the water. She will jump into a kiddie pool if set up and likes to swim in the surf at the beach.
She likes to play with balls and will play tug-of-war with you. She is quiet and chilled unless there is a bird or other unfamiliar animal on the property and she will bark until the intruder leaves or she becomes more familiar with the unknown animal. She will also bark if a stranger enters the property but will stop barking and resume being friendly if the stranger becomes a friend. This makes Rosie a great alarm system. If introduced properly, Rosie will become friendly to other pets such as other dogs and cats. She is an indoors and outdoors dog. She is respectful of clothing, shoes and furniture.
Rosie is a delight and would be suited to a young family or household seeking a cuddly addition to the family. She will be available to join her forever family from 26 January 2025 (after she is desexed). If you are looking for a friendly, sweet, smoochy, low-maintenance dog, then Rosie would love to meet you.
