About Dexter
Dexter requires the following in his new home:
- Must have another playful desex dog of similar size.
- An energetic home and lifestyle.
- Although he loves a cuddle he wants to be more than a lap dog.
- Further training to walk on the lead and to improve his manners.
- To be taken on adventures and outings.
- To be allowed inside with his family and to sleep inside of a night.
- Dexter gets anxious when someone leaves the house even when someone is still with him at home, he may try and run out the door, but settles after a short time.
Dexter is a very energetic little man who loves adventures in the car, going for walks and running around. He needs another similar sized dog for a playmate to play chasey with and he enjoys having dog toys to keep him entertained. Dexter will need some training to walk nicely on the lead so he can enjoy his outings.
Dexter can be very excited when greeting people and jumps very high to get their attention, so he would be best in a home with no young children, however teenagers would be fine as he just wants to be a part of whatever is going on and loves everyone.
Dexter will need some training around manners and is food motivated so will learn quickly with positive reinforcement. His carer is teaching him to stay out of the kitchen while they are eating. With regular access to outside, Dexter is toilet trained.
Dexter wants to be with his people and will follow you from room to room, and needs to be allowed inside when his people are home, he will choose to sleep in the same room as you during the day on a dog bed or couch, and of a night he is happiest sleeping on your bed by your feet. Dexter gets anxious when someone leaves the house even when someone is still with him at home, he may try and run out the door.
He is a happy playful fella that loves everyone and all the dogs in his foster home.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
