About Benji
Benji was surrendered into care after being hit by a car and fracturing his pelvis in late October. He is currently on half the medication he was on and his legs are becoming a little stronger every day. He is at this moment a little sensitive around his back end and can be mildly snappy due to pain but has not bitten.
He is around 5yrs old and is genuinely such a sweetheart! He’s loving and friendly, enjoys playing with toys (especially soft ones!) and does not bark excessively. He is fine sleeping quietly in a large crate at night filled with toys and blankets and a treat or two plus his water bowl.
He loves to come up for cuddles and to wiggle and rub his fluffy coat all over you. As I write this profile he has writhed his way under my arm and is giving lots of kisses. Now he’s changed tact and has climbed up behind me to chew on my hair bun. Such a character.
I really can’t reiterate enough what a sweet little boy this guy is. He would love a daily walk to explore the neighbourhood once he is healed and a game of fetch or tug-o-war. He‘s just too darling to pass up!
I have a feeling his adorably cheeky personality is just going to blossom even further once he‘s feeling 100%.
My Ideal Home:
With either no other dogs or a dog of similar breed, size and age. Someone working from home would be fabulous. Preferably adults only or no young children in the home.
What is Known About My Background:
Surrendered in Sydney after being hit by a car and fracturing his pelvis.
I can tell by his little collar and by how his name has been lovingly beaded onto his bandana that somebody adored this baby once.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
He can be a bit grumpy with larger dogs and dogs in his personal space but for the most part co-exists peacefully. He particularly enjoyed meeting and playing with a spitz today so perhaps if he’s not to be an only dog then a playmate of a similar size, breed and age might be best.
He does express that same grumpiness with children in his personal space too much so no children under 12yrs.
He has only ever vocalised through growls and a snap (with no real intent to bite) very occasionally but it’s important to respect any dogs boundaries so they don’t feel like they have no other option. He is still healing after all.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
