About Clancy
š¾ Clancy Needs a Hero (Again!) - Foster-to-Adopt Opportunity š¾
Well, folks, if there was an award for 'Most Unlucky Rescue Dog,' Clancy would probably be a front runner. Remember this gorgeous girl - #089, who blossomed into the amazing Clancy? She had us all swooning and a super adoption application approved, we were doing the happy dance! It seemed like she had finally found her happily ever after when...the dreaded heartworm test results came back positive. š©
Now, before you start picturing doom and gloom, letās clarify: heartworm IS NOT a death sentence! It's a treatable condition, but it involves a commitment to a fairly lengthy treatment process (usually around 10 months). Unfortunately for our girl, those treatment requirements were too restrictive for her wonderful, soon-to-be family, so we are back to square one with our girl. It sometimes feels like the Universe just keeps throwing curveballs at these poor abandoned pups.
So, we're now on a mission to find a truly special "Foster-to-Adopt" family for Clancy! This means you would foster her through the heartworm treatment, bonding with her and getting to know her adorable quirks, all while the rescue covers the full cost of her treatment. Once she gets the all-clear, youāll be able to officially adopt her and make her 'forever home' dreams come true.
Now, let's get reacquainted with the fabulous Clancy, a two-year-old cattle dog queen with an infectious zest for life. She is a total love bug who thrives on human interaction. Clancy gives the best happy wiggles, gentle nudges, and loves a good smooch. In fact, those little tail wiggles and that low-riding, cattle-dog bottom can really put on a show when she gets excited. It's pure, unadulterated joy!
But Clancy's not just a pretty face; she's also incredibly smart. Our girl has already mastered "sit" and "stay," and has a natural affinity for children. She walks beautifully on a leash and happily chills out in her crate during the day. Sheās a quick learner, too, developing strong bonds very easily (her foster dad is currently the apple of her eye!). Clancy is constantly exploring the world with her busy little snout, which can get her into some hilarious situations. Her overnight crate training is also coming along nicely, and she rarely barks for long. Seriously, this girl is a gem.
Of course, being a cattle dog, Clancy has someā¦ well, let's call them "spirited" moments. Like a toddler hoarding toys, she can be quite vocal if another dog tries to grab one of hers (she is NOT about sharing!). She also fusses a little when she first goes into her crate at night, but thankfully, those little solos are getting shorter each night. And the robot vacuum cleaner? Thatās her arch-nemesis. Seriously, watching her try to conquer that technological fiend is pure comedic gold.
Clancy can also be a bit of a stage-five clinger with her favourite human, occasionally whining when you leave the room. She prefers to be the sole recipient of affection, so we think she is best as an only dog, despite getting along well with the others at her fosters. And, just like so many other dogs, butts are a source of great fascination, and sniffing them is a favourite pastime!
Clancy is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date with all preventatives.
If Clancyās unique blend of loving affection and cattle dog charm sounds like the missing piece in your life, please send us a message telling us all about yourself and the incredible life you would give to our girl. We canāt wait to hear from you! Letās make sure this little girl finally gets the happy ending she so deserves! ā¤ļø
