Meet Goose,
About: Goose is a young, vibrant pup with a heart as big as her playful personality. If you're looking for a dog to fill your home with fun and adventure, Goose is your girl!
Goose is a happy, outgoing, and affectionate dog who’s ready to meet her forever family. She’s full of life and curiosity, always eager to explore and engage with the world around her. Whether you’re an active individual or a bustling family, Goose will fit right in, bringing energy, love, and plenty of laughs.
Though Goose didn’t receive much training in her previous home, she’s eager to learn and grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. She’s looking for someone who will guide her with patience and positivity, helping her polish her manners while embracing her playful spirit. First-time owners are welcome - Goose just needs a commitment to her growth and lots of love along the way! She just needs someone to show her the ropes and celebrate her progress.
Ideal Home: Goose is best suited to live in a townhouse, standalone home or farm/acerage, with a medium to large yard & high, secure fencing.
Goose enjoys spending most of her time indoors, but she's perfectly content being outside on her own and handles it without any issues.
Family: Goose is open to meet kids of any age - she is friendly, but she’s also boisterous and excitable, and her confidence and affectionate nature shine through. Her heart is truly in the right place; but she may accidentally knock smaller kids over during play time.
Goose is fine to live with people who work full-time hours.
Furry Friends: Goose is open to meet dogs. She's a young dog with typical puppy-like behaviour traits. During her dog assessment she showed us that she was very eager to interact and play with the other dog. After the excitement has worn off, she settled and was happy do her own thing and explore the area around her.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Goose would go living with cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Goose would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience with an emphasis on manners. Group classes would also be a great idea so that Goose can learn how to play with other dogs & extend on the dog social skills that she already has. With additional training, Goose could be the type of dog that you could take to a dog friendly café or social event.
Goose is still learning her name and she is working on learning commands such as: sit. Goose is food motivated, and she will take treats from you gently, but sometimes she does forget her manners.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Goose has high-range energy needs & would benefit from walking, play, or exercise from 20-60mins per day to keep her happy & healthy. Goose enjoys playing with toys, she prefers to play with soft toys but also loves to engage in personal play/cuddles with her handlers.
Goose walks well on a lead with minimal pulling. She is fine to be walked with a harness or on a collar/lead.
Staff Comments: Goose is a sweet, social dog. She is excitable and full of beans. She needs someone who is willing to take the time to do puppy pre-school/basic obedience and/or group training. She has so much potential but unfortunately was let down in her previous home.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
