About Yuki
Yuki will require the following in his new home.
- An energetic lifestyle with walks, runs and activities (age appropriate).
- Another desexed playful dog (not a senior or puppy).
- A variety of toys and water to play in.
- Training at home or at dog obedience groups.
- A secure yard.
Yuki, is very playful and very cuddly, he prefers to sleep as close to you as possible as you go about your day, so expect a heat pack with cute 'socks' to curl up under your feet as you go about your day. He loves to chew (so keep goat horns and chew toys at the ready!), On hot days he loves playing in a small splash pool and he adores getting wet and muddy.
Yuki can be a bit nervous meeting new people, but is easily reassured. He is generally very willing to listen and responds as long as you have gained his attention.
Yuki is a bit too bouncy and excited for small children but is well suited for kids older than 6 and very willingly listens to them. He will also settle down in a crate if younger guests are around. He is a young pup and still learning how to play appropriately and will need some guidance as he may play a little rough (eg may nip at ankles) when over excited. Puppy classes would be a great adventure with his family as he eagerly learns what is expected.
Yuki is very nervous getting into the car and has needed to be lifted in but he travels fantastically once he is in and secured. He is calm and happy to look out a window. Yuki is working on calm, leash walking. With regular, short training sessions and treats he responds very well to reminders about how to walk beside you.
Yuki is learning to sit and wait for food. He knows sit, drop, lay down, yes. Yuki is very keen to investigate the world and we are practicing reminders on which areas he is allowed to investigate. Yuki is toilet trained if he has regular access to outside.
When seeing other dogs when he is out and about Yuki can be a little nervous, but with encouragement he quickly makes friends with other friendly dogs. He has lived in a household with chickens and, while curious, has learnt to ignore them while they are in their coop.

Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy.
