About Ace
Ace is an absolute stunner. He has a beautiful merle coat and long lanky legs that make him float along the ground. And just to top it off, he has sweet eyes and a happy smile that draws you in. Ace is a friendly and extremely affectionate dog. He is very cuddly and loves to get pats and attention from his people. Ace will rub his body along your legs or lean in against you, looking up at you and wagging his tail in happiness. He enjoys making friends with anyone that he meets and will seek out the attention that he loves to receive.
Ace is a wonderful boy who is dog social and enjoys having a play. While in foster care, he has been living with a young puppy and is playful with him, but also so gentle at the same time. At the pound, he enjoyed playtime with a whole range of dogs as well. In his new home, Ace will need to be given the opportunity to have some regular socialisation with other dogs, preferably in the form of playdates with his doggie friends. He is a relatively tall dog but very lean in his build. We estimate him to be approximately 30kg. Ace is a relatively active dog who loves to run around and stretch his legs. He will need daily exercise and some mental stimulation to keep him healthy and happy throughout his life.
While in foster care, Ace has been brushing up on his basic training. He walks really nicely on the lead, and it is quite a pleasure to take him out. Having come from rural NSW, a lot of things in suburbia are new to him and occasionally he might get a little nervous; however, with a little reassurance and some guidance he relaxes and is quickly gaining confidence out and about. At home, Ace is toilet trained and sleeps peacefully throughout the night. He settles quickly when left at home in the yard alone and likes playing with enrichment toys or chewing on his treats. Ace is starting to learn how to play with toys and has started bounding after a ball when its thrown.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Ace where he will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities. He can live in a home with another friendly and playful dog who is already fully trained and ready to be a great role model for their new friend. Ace is also suitable to be an only dog in the home as long as his new owner(s) is around more often than not to give him that companionship that he loves. He will need to be allowed inside to be with the family when they are home and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.
Ace has met a young child before and was friendly with them like he is with all people. He would be fine to live with kids as long as they are confident with larger active dogs. Ace will need a home with a yard as he enjoys having some outside time. He travels well in the car after a little coaxing to get him in - something he has been getting better at while in care. We are sure that Ace would enjoy activities like hiking and camping or other fun adventures with his new owner(s). Once he has had his exercise, Ace is more than happy to just chill out around the home by your side. He truly is a wonderful companion dog to have around.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
