Meet Beans.
With a huge smile and a wagging tail he is the first to greet you whenever he see humans.
Beans is 1000% dog friendly, even though he is quite big for his age he is still a puppy at heart and just wants to play wrestle, run and bound around the yard with other dogs.
Beans is cat friendly, however sometimes he gets a bit excited when engaging with them and they can get annoyed. However, after a smack and dirty look from puss, Beans learns the required interaction.
Beans loves kids, he has been fostered with a 3 year old child and even though he is a tall dog he doesn't push, jump or nudge at the child. He is currently in care with older children.
Beans loves to go on adventures, loves to have a good run and a swim in the creek.
He has decent recall when he is running with a settled dog that doesn't take off. Beans has been coming to work with his carer and is very well behaved. Greeting people calmly then relaxing in his crate.
Now some not so positive traits about Beans.
Beans has shown in the past to jump over fences. So a 6 foot fence is a requirement for him.
Currently he is being fostered in a house with colourbond fence and that has kept him in without issues.
He is happy to be in the yard with another dog/s. (Beans is terrified of thunder and will look for a way out if he is left in the open but will happily be in his crate on the patio and feel safe during a storm.
Current foster carers have just been crating beans when leaving the house during storm season to ensure his safety.
During the day when his carers are home, Beans is free to roam the yard as he pleases but the first sounds of thunder Beans will present to his crate and lay in there. The crate is closed for his containment and comfort. After the thunder is gone Beans returns to his happy playful self.)
Beans hasn't shown a fear of thunder at his current carer's however it may reappear in a different environment.
At his current carer's house (with not great fences) Beans has been generally happy to stay home. When his carer became injured and was not able to give as much attention, Beans did find his own adventure. However, once he was able to receive more attention again the adventuring stopped.
It seems that while Beans doesn't require alot of physical exercise he does require a decent amount of mental stimulation/ inclusion to be content.
Beans is crate trained and absolutely loves his crate. He is quite often found just laying in it through out the day when he wants to rest.
Beans has a great nose and is a fast learner, he would do well with scent work or obedience training.
Beans would also make a great therapy dog with appropriate training.
Beans is learning to walk on a lead confidently and without pulling but will require further training.
Beans is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated and given flea, tick and worm preventatives.
