About Marty
Marty is a gentle and sensitive soul who is ready to begin a new chapter in a loving and understanding home. Since being at the RSPCA, he has made tremendous progress and is now looking for a patient, kind family who can provide him with the quiet, calm environment he needs to continue building his confidence.
This sweet boy may take some time to adjust to new situations, people, and environments, but gentle encouragement, he will begin to show his true, loving nature. He is sensitive and requires a slower, more gradual approach to settling in, so his new family should be prepared for a patient, steady process in helping him feel safe and secure. Building trust with Marty is key, and positive reinforcement like tasty treats will go a long way in helping him feel more at ease.
Marty is best suited to a home where he can be the only dog, as he wants o the the centre of attention. Marty would do best in a home with older children or teens who can respect his need for space and give him the time he requires to build a bond.
A secure yard with plenty of space for him to explore and feel safe is important for Marty's well-being, as he is a timid dog who needs to feel grounded in his environment. Indoor access and a cozy, safe space inside the home will also help him feel secure as he settles into his new routine.
Marty's ideal adopter will be someone who is confident with nervous or anxious dogs and willing to invest time in helping him build his confidence. A person who is comfortable managing a dog with a more timid personality and who can provide him with structure, patience, and love will help Marty blossom into the loyal and affectionate companion he longs to be.
With the right support, Marty has the potential to thrive and offer companionship. If you are someone who is prepared to take on the responsibility of guiding a shy dog through his journey of self-assurance, Marty could be the perfect fit for your home. He deserves a second chance, and with your love and care, he will become the devoted and loving dog you've been waiting for.
