About Holly
Get Ready to Fall in Love with Holly! (Formerly #031)
Remember #031?
Well, she's officially been upgraded to "Holly," and let us tell you, this girl is something special!
This sweetie pie had a bit of a rough start, finding herself in a tight spot after bravely bringing her little pups into the world in a less-than-ideal location. We got her pups to safety, but Holly had to wait a little longer for her turn. We were starting to worry, but thankfully our superstar foster carer, Sharon, swooped in just in the nick of time, and Holly got her ticket out just before Christmas.
At around a year old, Holly is a medium-sized mix with a heart that’s approximately three sizes too big (and filled with pure love).
She’s a gentle soul, a certified cuddle monster, and utterly devoted to people – prepare for a lifetime of loving licks. She's been a social butterfly ever since she arrived, making friends with little kids, teenagers, big family gatherings, and even those in wheelchairs.
Sharon's grandkids are completely smitten, and the feeling is mutual.
Holly's been learning the ropes from her foster brother, Leo, and is the BEST at trying to copy him. She can be a tad timid at times, and loud noises are definitely not her jam. Baths? Let's just say they're not exactly at the top of her "fun times" list. We're also treating some sensitive skin issues, and while she might need some ongoing medication, we're hoping that a good diet will have that sorted.
Holly is one smart cookie – she knows her name, sits on command, and is working on the whole "sit patiently while waiting for dinner" thing (although she secretly thinks humans are a bit dramatic about this rule). She's absolutely glued to her foster mum, a real shadow, and she's destined to be the most fiercely loyal companion. She really, truly, needs that “special human” to call her own.
Crate training is on the learning curve – we’re taking it slow and steady. Like many dogs with similar histories, she's currently dealing with some separation anxiety and those dark nights can be a bit scary for her, but she's gaining confidence daily. She'd secretly LOVE to sleep in your bedroom – just saying.
Walks are becoming her thing ! She gets a little excited when she spots another dog or a bird, and she’s totally convinced that every human she meets is just dying for a kiss.
She’s also in training on the “no table surfing” rule. We have a sneaky suspicion that she may have had a cheeky “sniff” of the Christmas ham when no one was looking! But the good news is, this girl has mastered “Down, Holly!” and just recently conquered "Go to bed".
Honestly, Holly is just amazing. She’s truly coming out of her shell, discovering the joys of zoomies with her foster brother, and finally learning what it means to just be a happy puppy.
It's heartbreaking to imagine what she might have gone though before, but she's starting to find her brave, and discover the joy of being a little bit naughty (yes, there might be some digging)!
She has so much more freedom now and is learning the boundaries of the big new world. She needs a family who is kind, patient, and gets that she’s still finding her feet (and paws).
Holly is fully vaccinated, microchipped, up to date with all her treatments, and will be desexed on January 14th, making her ready to waltz into her forever home! She's currently chilling in Upper Kedron, near North Brisbane. Her adoption fee is $595.
