About Alvin
Alvin is a strikingly handsome and noble hound. He looks strong and confident but at heart he is a big softie. This marsh mellow just wants a comfy quiet home with humans to love. He is an affectionate boy who loves to hang out with his humans but will also take himself off to a quiet spot on occasion. Alvin will often just sit and happily watch you go about your business. He is your biggest fan. Every night he looks forward to being tucked into bed.
Alvin has been a pet for over three years but unfortunately his owner is no longer able to provide him with the stable home life he needs. She has made the heartbreaking decision to to find a new forever home for him.
Alvin would suit an owner who is able to provide him with stability and commitment. He enjoys training and has learnt several commands. He can climb stairs and loves to play with his toys. Alvin loves to engage and play with his humans.
Alvin loves his walks but would prefer quieter areas without too much traffic. He is happy to jump in and out of the car on his way to adventures with you. He would be suitable as an only dog if his humans are home more often than not.
Alvin will always brighten your day with his warm cuddles and finding new ways to make your laugh.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
