Pauly is a handsome athletic 2 year old American Staffy X located Bacchus Marsh, Victoria urgently in need of a forever home!

Pauly is very gentle with his human and doggie family. He obeys instructions, won’t push past you at the door and hasn’t made any attempts to escape the yard.

He loves to play enthusiastically but gently with his foster sister who’s one-third of his 22Kg. Like most staffies, he’s a Velcro dog who bonds quickly and strongly with his human family.

He’s excellent with new people, house trained, uses a doggie door, and responds well to sit, no, on your bed, and stay. He loves being patted and cuddled and giving out kisses. He sleeps through the night – on your bed next to you if he can, or in his own space.

Pauly loves his food and that along with his stronger than average desire to please his humans, he’s readily trainable. He's a moderate barker, and In the absence of unfamiliar dogs, he does not pull much on a lead. Like many dogs, if bored he can dig or chew but can be distracted with toys and attention.

He enjoys zoomies inside and out, some sunshine, playing chasey with his human and doggie families, often competing for possession of the toy of the moment. He likes to issue challenges for tug-of-war contexts.

Pauly’s great need is to learn to accept dogs outside of his canine housemates.

Unfortunately, out walking he has exhibited lead aggression therefore his new family need to be confident and prepared to put in the training required. Lead aggression is where the dog barks, lunges and snaps at another dog out on a walk, and whilst it is quite common, it needs a confident owner to train him out of this behaviour or be prepared to enlist a trainer.

A home with a good-sized backyard would be beneficial, so he can burn off energy without needing visits to dog parks and other public spaces especially while settling into his new home.
