About Nelly
Meet Nelly!
Nelly is a one-of-a-kind sweetheart who’s ready to find her forever family. She absolutely adores being the centre of attention and would shine in a home where she’s the only pet. Nelly is a people-lover, but she’s best suited for households with children aged 12 and up, as she can get a little possessive of her favourite humans.
Her personality is brimming with charm! Nelly treasures her plush toys and loves carrying them around like prized possessions. She’s full of curiosity and loves to keep an eye on everything happening around her. Nelly also knows some adorable tricks—like “sit” and “high five”—especially when treats are involved!
Nelly is a natural adventurer! She loves car rides, where she can sit up high and take in all the sights, and she’s the ultimate café companion, always ready for a bit of people-watching. Her curious and observant nature has earned her the nickname "Nosey Nelly."
Nelly’s Ideal Home
Nelly dreams of a home where she can be the star of the show. She thrives as the only dog and would love to have a cozy spot on the couch where she can cuddle up with her favourite humans. She is able to live in an apartment, particularly if there’s a balcony for her to lounge on while keeping an eye on the world.
Energy Level
Nelly is the perfect mix of couch potato and loyal companion. While she’s a low-energy pup who loves snuggling up for naps, she also enjoys short daily walks or rides in the car to explore her surroundings. Wherever you go, she’s happiest when she’s right by your side.
Children: Best suited for older, dog-savvy kids (12+), as she can be protective of her human companions.
Other Pets: Nelly hasn’t been tested with cats, but she tends to prefer her personal space when it comes to other dogs. She’ll give polite warnings if another dog gets too close.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
