About Lola - 2.5 Year Old Australian Silky Terrier X
Lola – The tiny diva is looking for her forever home!
Lola is a 2.5-year-old Australian Silky Terrier X pint-sized princess with a big heart. At just 3.4 kg, she may be small, but her love for belly rubs, cuddles, and lounging knows no bounds. Affectionate, loyal, and makes a great companion.
Lola gets along well with other dogs but would be best suited to a home with a small, calm canine friend or would be equally as happy as an only dog. She currently lives with a 23 kg Labradoodle but finds his energy a bit too much and isn't afraid to put him in his place. Lola's sassy, bossy side shines through, but she balances it with charm and love.
Lola adores people and is happiest when she has company. She’s also perfectly content spending some time alone, making her a great match for a part-time worker. She is fine with children, as long as they are gentle with her.
Lola is toilet trained, provided she has access to the outdoors and knows where to go. A small dog door and occasional prompts will help her stay on track. Her current foster home has a large doggy door, which is a bit too much for her size, but as long as the back door is open, Lola confidently takes herself outside.
A little diva at mealtime, Lola prefers wet food or home-cooked meals over plain biscuits. She’ll happily indulge in a tasty treat but won’t hesitate to turn her nose up at kibble.
Lola is easy-going when it comes to sleeping. She’s happy to snooze in her own bed or cuddle up with you. Due to her small size, she might need a hand getting onto the bed or couch, but she’ll happily accept the invitation. Lola is not destructive, does not dig or try to escape, and isn’t prone to barking. She may occasionally join in for a game of fetch but is generally more interested in going out for walks, car rides, coffee's, exploring new scents, and more cuddles.
Lola has a low shedding coat which will require ongoing maintenance. When arriving into foster care she had a mild dermatitis which is now being managed with weekly Malaseb baths and a trial of Apoquel medication. Her condition is improving quickly, and potential adopters should be aware that this may be required on a ongoing basis.
If you’re ready to give Lola a loving home, she can’t wait to meet you!
Lola is located in Newcastle, and is not available for interstate adoption. Her adoption fee of $700 covers desexing, vaccinations, and microchipping.
