About Raspberry
Meet Raspberry! (Nicknames Razza, Razzie, Rastus)
Raspberry is a very special boy looking for the purrfect forever home, as you may have noticed in some photos, Raspberry has a mild-moderate head tilt! This does not affect his day to day life and he still behaves like a normal kitty, running, jumping and climbing. His head tilt does make it uncomfortable for him to be picked up so he does not enjoy being picked up or held for a long period of time.
Raspberry is a very timid kitty and can be skittish around strangers, loud noises and sudden movements towards him so he is looking for a quiet, patient home where he will be given the time and love he needs to feel safe and settled. Despite being timid, Raspberry is still very loving and affectionate! He LOVES to sit in your lap for as long as you'll let him and sleep next to you in bed all night, when his foster mum is at the computer he will jump up on her lap and sleep for hours.
Raspberry has a bit of a voice and can be a chatterbox, he will meow especially when he wants attention, food or treats! Raspberry would likely be skittish in a home with little kids however his foster home has since had a baby and he is getting used to hearing baby cries and squeals and is even starting to sit next to the baby whilst she plays! So we feel he would settle in time. Raspberry will absolutely settle into most homes within a few weeks of patience and would thrive with constant attention and love.
*I love other cats!*
Raspberry is VERY gentle and passive to everyone he meets, he is a cats best friend! He would get along well and cuddle with any cat friend that would allow him to! We would like Raspberry to go to a home with another passive friendly cat that needs a cat friend or to a home that is interested in adopting him alongside a foster sibling.
Raspberry is an INDOOR ONLY cat for life with exception of a secure outdoor enclosure if one is available.
Medical notes
Mild-Moderate Head Tilt - Cause unknown, the tilt is not always obvious and some days are worse than others.
Raspberry has had 2 dental procedures in 2024 which involved 10 extractions, he has fully recovered and his teeth are in good condition now. Raspberry will require a check up at the vet every 12 months to ensure his teeth are staying in good condition (this can be done at the same time as his yearly vaccinations) and must be on a dental diet for life with added dental treats such as Greenies (which he loves).

Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
