About Teddy
Meet Teddy - My Turn for Happy Ever After?
Hello there, it's me, Teddy.
I know, I'm a handsome chap, aren't I? I'm twenty weeks old and a rather dashing 17kg bundle of leggy, brindle charm (the vet thinks there might be a bit of wolfhound in the mix, which would explain these legs). I’ve got one of those faces that just makes people go ‘aww’ and eyes that could melt even the coldest heart.
Now, I’m not going to lie, my start to life hasn’t been very jolly. You see, I was one of seven pups – yes, seven - dumped in a bucket outside a rural pound. Not exactly the Ritz, was it? We all came to the rescue village in October and sadly, it turned out we were carrying that nasty Parvo virus. I was so lucky, I didn’t get it but three of my siblings weren’t so fortunate and sadly passed away. My other three siblings got adopted, which was lovely for them, but…well, you know, here I still am. I also had a bout of coccidia which made me feel pretty rubbish. But I’m a fighter, and I’ve bounced back to health, good as new!
I even got adopted once but things didn't quite work out, the resident dog wasn’t too keen on a new housemate, particularly one as keen as I am to play and be friends. My heart broke a little. I'm just desperate for a pal. I’ve even tried to make friends with a big scary cat - it wasn’t quite as enthusiastic as I was and I ended up more of a pin cushion, but I live in hope one day I will meet a friend I can play with! I just love absolutely everyone I meet.
So, I know you’re thinking I must be a right handful after all that drama but actually I’m an incredibly intelligent, calm and curious boy. I love treats – what dog doesn’t? And I'm learning new things every day, even if I'm a little unsure at first. I am not super mouthy for a young chap, and I understand the doggy door really well, coming in is a breeze! Going out, well that's still in the experimental stage! I'm learning to walk nicely on a lead am getting really good at sitting at intersections – you should see me! Maybe not too good at stopping jumping up though, but that's a work in progress. Oh, and I might try and steal the TV remote - I will give it back though, I promise. I do love a good slide zoomie down the hallway and I’m quite partial to chasing a ball but the bring back part is not my strong suit.
After a 40-minute walk, I'm a complete puddle of sleepiness, and nothing makes me happier than snuggling up on the sofa or your bed with a pillow. I dream of having a home with another dog to play with and a nice big garden for my zoomies. I really love being with my people – so please don’t adopt me is you want an only outside dog. I’d love a family that would continue showing me there is lots of good in the world. I do enjoy adventures and a good splash in water so a chance to do that would be great.
I’m currently in foster care in Geebung, and my adoption fee is $625. That covers my vaccinations, microchip, worming, flea/tick treatment and also my desexing at one of the partner vets when I’m six months old.
So, what do you think? Could you be my forever family? If you think you can offer a loving home to this pretty boy, please send a detailed message telling me all about you and the wonderful life we could share together. Maybe, just maybe, my happy ever after is just around the corner at your place!
Lots of love and hopeful tail wags,
Teddy xxx
