About Eddy
Meet Eddie, a young male Blue Heeler who is eager to find a home where he can thrive. With all the intelligence and energy that makes the breed so special, Eddie is looking for an active and understanding family who can provide the mental and physical exercise he needs. He's easygoing, loyal, and ready to become your new best friend and training buddy.
Eddie hasn't yet worked with livestock, but with his sharp instincts and enthusiasm, he would make a fantastic candidate for anyone interested in training a future working dog or perhaps you are an aspiring marathon runner or interested in dog sports instead?? Eddie's energy and smarts will keep up with your pace. Perhaps you dream of seeing him on TV as a contestant on ABC's Muster Dog program - he's got the potential to go far!
Eddie would do well in a home with or without other dogs, as long as he's part of the family's active lifestyle. He'd also make a wonderful playmate for older children who are looking for a bright, loyal companion who will always be by their side. His intelligence means he's not just a shadow but a fun, interactive companion who will keep you on your toes.
If you're ready to invest in Eddie's training and want to give him a home full of adventure and care, he could be the perfect addition to your life. Come meet Eddie - he's waiting to bring his loyalty and energy to your home!
To book a meet and greet with Eddy please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
