About Tazzie
Adoption Profile: Tazzie – The Derpy Tasmanian Tiger
Meet Tazzie, a brindle-coated bundle of joy who’s equal parts cuddle bug, goofball, and (possibly) Tasmanian tiger descendant. At just four months old, Tazzie is already stealing hearts with his quirky antics, playful nature, and love for belly rubs. Tazzie's breed mix is a mystery, a splash of staffy, a spoonful of terrier, a hint of kelpie? He really is a melting pot but we believe he will be a small / medium sized dog when fully grown.
Tazzie is a huge fan of snuggles and adores spending time with his humans. He’s often found lounging nearby—or on them—while making his signature “piggy grunts” when he’s extra content. When it comes to adventures, Tazzie is all in. Whether it’s chasing lizards in the garden with his doggy foster sibling or exploring the great outdoors, this little guy knows how to have a good time.
He’s also a bit of a clown. From flopping over for belly rubs with zero notice to falling asleep in doorways or upside down with his feet in the air, Tazzie’s goofy charm is impossible to resist.
Don’t let his playful demeanour fool you—Tazzie is a quick learner! He already knows how to sit, lie down, and crawl, and he’s making great progress with toilet training. Tazzie sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, walks nicely on a lead, and handles car rides like a champ. While his recall is still a work in progress, he’s improving every day.
The Perfect Home for Tazzie!
Tazzie is a playful and affectionate pup who thrives in a home that offers:
- Plenty of playtime, walks, and opportunities to explore (bonus points for a yard where he can chase lizards).
- A cozy spot on the couch for snuggles and naps.
- A family committed to continuing his training and providing lots of love.
He’s perfectly content being left home alone and will happily entertain himself or nap until his humans return.
- Daily exercise and mental stimulation
- Ideally a home with a yard, with access in and out as he pleases.
Energy Level: Tazzie strikes a wonderful balance between playful and relaxed. He starts his day with energy and enthusiasm, ready for walks and games, but he also knows when to slow down. After a burst of fun, he’s content to lounge around, follow his humans, or curl up for a snooze.
Suitability for Children: Though Tazzie hasn’t had much experience with children, he adores meeting new people. He’d likely do well with dog-savvy kids who understand how to interact gently with a young puppy.
Suitability for Other Pets: Tazzie loves his foster dog sibling and enjoys playing with other dogs at the park. He’d thrive in a home with another dog to keep him company, though a meet-and-greet would ensure a good match.
While he hasn’t been tested with cats or small pets, Tazzie does have a playful interest in birds, so introductions should be managed carefully.
Tazzie is a born entertainer. Whether he’s tripping over his own paws, greeting his humans with a big goofy grin, or accidentally falling asleep in the oddest places, this pup is guaranteed to make you laugh. He also has a special talent for belly rub requests—one look at his adorable, flopped-over pose, and you won’t be able to resist.
Tazzie is ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of cuddles to his forever home. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and hilarious companion, Tazzie might just be your perfect match! Apply to adopt him today.
