About Mittens
Meet Mittens, a sweet and gentle soul seeking a serene and peaceful sanctuary. Mittens is the ideal companion for those who appreciate quiet moments and tranquil spaces. His calm demeanor and affectionate nature make him a wonderful addition to any home that values the finer, quieter side of life.
Mittens thrives in an environment where he can relax and indulge in solitude or soft companionship. His presence brings a soothing energy to the room, offering his love and gentle purrs to those who make a genuine connection with him. Whether he's napping in a sunny spot or sitting quietly beside you, Mittens embodies peace and contentment.
If you're interested in welcoming Mittens into your life, you're invited to visit him at our Adoption Centre located at 17/39-41 Corporation Circuit, Tweed Heads South. Our doors are open from 10-3pm Monday to Saturday, and you can complete our online adoption expression of interest form to get started. For more immediate inquiries, feel free to contact our Rehoming Centre at 07 5524 8590, or reach out to our Cat Coordinator, Sonia, at 0439 766 243. Rest assured, all of our cats, including Mittens, come desexed, microchipped, and vaccinated. We encourage you to meet Mittens, spend some time getting to know him, and discover the unconditional love a new family member like him has to offer.
Adopting Mittens means welcoming a devoted friend who will adore the peaceful moments you share together. Make sure to check local registration requirements with the Tweed Shire Council or your local council to ensure a smooth transition for your new companion.

Adoption details
If there is a cat/dog you would be interested in adopting that you have seen online or met at our Adoption Centres, you will need to fill out an Expression of interest. You can do this at the Centres or online at: https://friendsofthepound.com/adoption-expression-of-interest/
We only adopt out cats and dogs to locations that are within 2 hours driving distance.
If you are a homeowner, we need a copy of your Rates Notice. If you have a Body Corp, we need their written permission that cat/dog ownership is allowed.
If you are in a rental we need written permission from the Home owner/Letting Agent. The letter needs to be dated within the last week and state the property address, the name of the Occupant (adopter-to-be) and how long you have been at the property.
We cannot accept deposits and no hold can be put on a cat/dog.
All adoptions need to be approved by our Cat, Kitten or Dog Coordinators or Management so you might not be able to adopt the cat or dog at the time you meet them.
We aim to match the cats/dogs with the most suitable owner and home environment. Our goal is to have the cats and dogs go to a home where they can spend their entire lives, which could be up to 20 years or more for a kitten, and 15-20 years for a puppy.
