Meet Prix, the girl with the best smile and the most sincere eyes in Australia!

Prix came to SODR with her 9 puppies. After fulfilling all her mom duties and being amazing at it, she had the chance to learn how to be a puppy herself during the last few months in care. She’s everything wonderful you could ever imagine, and now she’s ready to find her forever home!

Prix loves everything dog-related. She loves going for walks, enjoys food and treats, has a blast playing catch, but most of all, she loves being with her people. She’s what we’d call a “shadow dog,” meaning she’ll follow you into the bathroom if you let her 🤭. She loves her people so much that she’ll give you the best tail wags and cuddles every time you come home from work, grocery shopping, or even taking out the rubbish. Prix is great with cats—she knows when they need space and when they’re ready to play, she also loves dogs after a slow introduction, and she walks wonderfully on her lead.

She sounds perfect, doesn’t she? Well, she is, but there are a few things you should know before making your final decision. Although she loves dogs inside the house, she doesn’t feel the same way about them on walks. Prix can be a little reactive to other dogs while on a walk—she might never hurt another dog, but she might pounce at them, which can be surprising the first time you walk her. She’s made a lot of progress during her time in care, and I’m sure she’ll be perfect with a little more work from her new family. Because she LOVES people, she can get overly excited when guests arrive and might try to jump around them or run circles. This will require a firm but loving parent who can teach her to be “calm and collected” and to breathe (we’ve been practicing this at home 😅). She also seems to have a personal vendetta against the vacuum, and she’s a bit of a fart machine, so be ready 🤭. Overall, she’s a great listener and very treat-driven, so she’s a great dog to train if you’re willing to put in the time and love.

Prix is happy to be on her own while you’re working, but she’d definitely love it if you could stay with her all day, every day. She was made to be an inside dog—she loves chilling around the house when you’re not there, so a doggy door would be perfect for her to come and go as she needs for bathroom breaks. She’d have no problem living with cat siblings (she currently lives with two) or a dog sibling (if a good fit after an introduction). She also loves kids, but due to her excitement, she can be a little jumpy, so it’s probably best if they’re older to help manage her jumps, play with her, and say “no” when needed. She’s happy with one walk + play session a day, then just relaxing around the house or cuddling with you.

Prix has definitely claimed a permanent spot in her foster mom’s heart, and she’ll surely do the same with you. Overall, Prix is looking for a family who wants to give her all the love she deserves for the rest of her life!
