About Monty - 1 Year Old Husky X
Meet Simon (aka Monty)! The ultimate cuddle buddy – a big, fluffy teddy bear with a heart full of love! This sweet Husky x boy is affectionate, playful, and adores being around his people. He’s always up for cuddles, belly rubs, and snuggles, making him the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal friend. Monty is great with other dogs, both big and small, and has an absolute blast playing with his foster siblings. He tends to be on the submissive side, and would love a confident older dog to guide him into adulthood.
This lovely boy is toilet trained and is making excellent progress With his basic commands, but he would benefit from a family who can continue his training and help him grow into a well-mannered adult. He sits for his dinner and waits patiently until told to eat. He sleeps next to his foster carer's bed, and knows exactly where to go when he is told it’s bedtime. Monty is still learning to walk on a leash, and would love for his people to help him become a walk-time expert, He does not pull or lunge, but is always worried about going to the car, so don’t be surprised if he pretends to be asleep the moment that harness goes on! This sensitive boy gets easily car sick, so his new family will need to be understanding of his dislike for travel.
Monty does have some evident separation anxiety and will need a family who can be home with him most of the time. He will sing loudly for you when you first leave, but does tend to settle if he has a dog companion. His foster carers have been building his confidence, and currently he can stay at home for 2-3 hours without concern. Anything longer though, and he does start to fret. He thrives when he’s with his people and he would love to be included as another family member, welcome inside the home at all times.
If you’re looking for a loving and gentle dog who will become your loyal companion, Monty might just be the perfect fit! He’s ready to find a family who can offer him the love, attention, and care he deserves.
Monty will grow up to be a medium/ large dog. You will need at least 5ft solid fencing, with no gaps (rural and mesh fencing will not be accepted). Due to his age, Monty will need someone home more often than not, and will need to be supervised with any other dogs in the home during the settling period. Monty will be a wonderful family dog and will be suitable for those with young children, though he will need a family willing to continue his training.
Monty is in foster care in Stroud, NSW. His adoption fee is $700 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.
