About Fred
Introducing Fred!
Fred is a Greyhound born 5th May 2023.
Fred & his brothers have been surrendered to the facility for rehoming. None of the boys have ever raced before and they're all desperate to start their new lives.
Fred is an incredibly sweet boy who loves human attention & affection. We've found he LOVES squeaky toys and he takes them to bed with him. He's a very inquisitive boy who loves investigating new smells. Fred likes to stand on his back feet, wrap his arms around your waist & give you a kiss on the lips. While he can get a little boisterous when he gets over excited, he's mostly a gentle boy just looking for love.
Fred tested well with other dogs at the facility. When a small dog tried to eat him, he immediately lifted his head & backed away to avoid a confrontation, then tried to play with the little dog even though it was still being aggressive towards him. He has also been socialised with French Bulldogs. We believe Fred would be suitable to live with other dogs, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Fred has shown signs of prey drive with cats & pocket pets. Because of this we are recommending a home with no small animals.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Fred will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Fred has shown no food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.
Fred's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing & lifetime registration. Fred is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
