Meet Jett,
About: Jett is a lively and adventurous pup! Jett is best suited to experienced owners who can keep up with his energetic personality. He would do well in any household environments - his adaptable nature making him a great addition for active individuals or families who love to explore and have fun, too.
As a young dog, Jett exhibits all the typical puppy-like behaviours that make him so endearing. He is agreeable, friendly, and happy, with an outgoing nature that draws people in. Jett is smart and confident & always curious about the world around him. His excitable and playful demeanour makes him a lot of fun to be around, and he loves to engage with both people and other dogs. Jett is also alert and boisterous, ready to join in on any adventure that comes his way. His affectionate personality means he will shower you with love and companionship, making every day brighter.
Ideal Home: Jett is best suited to live in a standalone house or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large sized yard & high, secure fencing.
Jett would be fine to spend most time outdoors as he can easily entertain himself but spending time indoors with his family would be beneficial for his development.
Family: Jett is happy to meet kids aged 8 years and older. This is because of his energetic, puppy-like nature.
Jett would be fine in a home with people who work part-time hours. Just as long as they are committed to his training & development.
Furry Friends: Jett is open to meet other dogs. During his dog assessment he was very excited to meet & greet the other dog. He was excited & bouncy, eager to play. However, he doesn't have a lot of manners. So group classes should be considered so that he can learn how to appropriately interact with other dogs in a controlled environment. His energy will be too much for a laid back dog.
Jett would not be suitable to live with cats/pocket pets.
Training & Development: Jett would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Group classes would be a great idea too as this way Jett can learn how to appropriately interact with other dogs in a safe & controlled environment while also learning his manners.
Jett is still learning his name but he knows how to 'sit' & 'down'. Jett is food motivated & but sometimes forgets his manners when taking them from you.Jett is young & full of beans - he can jump but is quickly learning that this behaviour is not acceptable.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Jett is young has high-range energy needs & would benefit from walking, play or exercise, from 20-60mins per day to keep his happy & satisfied. Jett loves to play with toys, he likes to play with soft toys.
Jett walks well on a lead but can get excited & tend to pull towards exciting points of interest. He is best to be walked on a harness or martingale.
Staff Comments: Jett would thrive in an active household where he can receive plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He would do well with owners who can provide structure and guidance while allowing him to explore and play. He is very affectionate & loving.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
