About Maisie
Maisie – It's time to find her family and complete this amazing journey.
After months of baby steps, patience, and love, we are thrilled to share that Maisie is ready to find her forever family.
This remarkable 2-year-old Kelpie x has travelled so many long roads to get here, and she deserves a special home that understands her unique spirit.
Maisie is not just any dog; she is a testament to resilience and the power of trust.
Arriving at our rescue from a rural pound over eight months ago, she was a dog crippled by fear and uncertainty.
Her journey took an unexpected turn when she was startled and took off on a month-long adventure starting a community-wide effort to bring her home.
During that time, Maisie captured countless hearts, reminding us all of the importance of community and hope.
Though she may still be shy with strangers, those who take the time to get to know her will discover the gentle soul beneath.
Maisie has an incredible capacity for love, and with calm, patient introductions, she blossoms into a loyal companion.
While she rarely barks, her joyful "woo woo" greeting of delight at seeing her person, when you come home, will warm your heart every single time.
Maisie thrives in a safe environment where she can retreat to her cozy crate when feeling uncertain.
With access to both indoor and outdoor spaces, she loves to lounge on the couch or nap in her soft bed.
A high-fenced yard is essential for her safety as she can be quite the escape artist when startled.
Initially, she will need to be on a lead outdoors until she becomes familiar with her surroundings and builds her confidence.
Despite her past, Maisie is a beautiful natured dog who loves the company of other dogs.
She would really benefit from a friendly and calm, middle to large-sized companions who can help her navigate the world.
She has a low energy level but enjoys her daily walks—now an exciting adventure for her after overcoming her fears.
While she is still learning her lead manners, with gentle training and a patient leader, she continues to gain confidence.
Maisie is a remarkable girl who is also a bit of a couch potato, seeking warmth and comfort on soft cushions.
She’s a champion during nail cutting and enjoys gentle pats, brushing, and massages.
While she is not highly food-driven, she loves working on puzzles and enrichment games to keep her mind active.
To the family that opens their heart to Maisie, we ask for your patience and kindness.
She is not just looking for a home; she’s seeking a loving bond with humans who understand her journey and are committed to continuing her progress at her pace.
With time, care, and encouragement, Maisie will show you the true depth of her love.
If you are a calm household seeking a loyal companion who will be by your side, Maisie may be the perfect addition to your family.
Let's find this brave girl the loving forever home she so deeply deserves.
Maisie is in foster care at Alderley ( Brisbane) and is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with all her flea / tick / worming treatments.
