Hi! I’m Princess and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.

NOTE: You are unable to meet Princess until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Princess in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• Regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A patient family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time.
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs but am not overly interactive with them and just as happy on my own
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I am very people orientated
• No young children as I can be shy & nervous in certain situations, older children who understand that they will need to take is slow with me should be ok.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence.


Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok

My best features:
• Highly food motivated
• Gentle & placid
• I can sit, shake hands & stay
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered girl
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• I walk well on lead
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I LOVE the water and will splash about in my water bowl, play with the hose and swim in the basin/river

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I love my food & toys so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I was named Princess at the Shelter so will need further training on my recall as I may ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
