About Rum Ball
Hello, Rum Ball here, the only boy of the Christmas Dessert Puppies! Foster Mum says I'm clever, soft and sweet.
I came into foster care at 5 weeks of age, and am slowly starting to thrive.
I'm a typical inquisitive kelpie puppy, who loves to play, and I'm also a sweet and smoochy little boy.
Unfortunately I am affected by a kelpie genetic disease, called CA (see below for more info).
I'm looking for a forever family who is committed to my training, stimulation and socialisation with the world.
I've been well handled by a 1.5 and 3 year old human since coming into care, and I get along well with the other kelpies, my siblings and the sausage dog.
I'm ready to leave for my forever home when I am 8 weeks old (28/12 onwards), and if you think you are the one for me, then don't delay, apply today!
Lots of licks,
Rum Ball x
Medical notes
CA - Rum Ball has tested as a double carrier for Cerebellar Abiotrohpy(CA) a kelpie genetic disorder, of the early-onset variety. Which means he is likely to be affected by it. Symptoms usually appear around the 4-8 week mark. He is not yet showing symptoms (7.5 weeks).
Early onset CA is non-degenerative, and symptoms include slight head tremors, a wider front gait and/or slight wobbles. This disease does not prevent a dog from living a happy, active-companion life. Their lifespan could be slightly less than that of a non affected dog, but so far we have adopted out pups who are still thriving at 10 years of age with early-onset CA.

You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa.
