About Timmy STA012534
Meet Timmy, a gentle and affectionate cat with a heart of gold. Timmy is an understandably timid soul who has recently shown us glimpses of his growing confidence. In a world that can be overwhelming to him, Timmy seeks a quiet, understanding home to let his endearing and loveable personality shine through. He would prefer a tranquil environment without the bustle of children or canine companions, where he can find his own safe spaces and explore at his own rhythm.
His foster journey has shown that with time and patience, Timmy can transform into a delightfully affectionate companion who is eager to be close to the people he trusts. It may take a few months for Timmy to build up the courage to emerge from hiding, and a quiet room or cozy corner is usually where Timmy feels safest initially. Fostering Timmy involved long hours of soft talk, reassurances, and gentle encouragement, which greatly assisted in his transition. Treats, toys, and a beloved cat brush have been invaluable in helping him feel more at home. Now, Timmy enjoys receiving gentle scratches and has even started to lead his foster family to his room for playtime sessions filled with joy.
He’s fondly known as "Timmy the Brave Boy" due to his commendable progress, and he loves acknowledging your calls and being near you during the day. An incredibly charming trait of Timmy's is how he’ll roll over when he feels particularly happy. At nighttime, Timmy enjoys your company as you drift off to sleep, often watching over you before he quietly retreats to his own space. He has emerged as one of the gentlest souls his foster family has encountered, and his endearing nature has captured their hearts.
If you're ready to offer a safe haven and are prepared to shower him with love and gentle reassurance, Timmy will reward you with loyalty and a gentle companionship that is truly special. His journey is a testament to the kindness and patience that can bring a shy cat out of his shell, and he'll thrive in a home where he feels cherished and secure.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
