About Lola
Layla and Lola are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They came to SAFE initially as ‘emergency fosters’— their owner was unable to care for them but didn’t want them rehomed. But after 5 months in care, the decision has been made to find these girls hopefully one last loving home for them to iive out their days in, without the turmoil of being moved about.
Layla is the smaller, older one of this Odd Couple. She weighs in at just under 5kg, is mostly blind and deaf, and has 3 teeth left, but the vet has otherwise given her a clean bill of health. She sometimes scampers about like a puppy, but she does rely heavily on Lola for support/companionship. Layla has taken quite a liking to the foster carer’s son in law.
Lola is 1/2 Layla’s age, and twice her weight! She weighs in at just under 10kg. She is getting a much needed dental scale and clean, and may have some extractions done as well, but has also been given a clean bill of health by the vet.
Both girls are dog, cat, and kid friendly, housetrained, and can use a dog door. Although they will sleep in their own beds, they’re quick to share foster mum’s bed if given an invitation :) Lola has only recently been displaying some growley tendencies around other dogs—it appears she might be either resource guard her carer, or protecting Layla from potential danger.
These girls will need regular brushing/grooming to keep their coats nice. Can you give them a loving, comfortable home for their final years?
