Chica

Chica is a beautiful 8 year old female lab x Pyrenees. She is a great friend to all humans and is dog and cat friendly. Chica is incredibly placid and easy going and very easy to walk on the lead. Spending time playing with dogs at the park or on a dirt BMX track is her favourite hobby, however she requires careful supervision to ensure she doesn't find abandoned tennis balls to snack on. She loves both being chased and chasing her human, but first she has to be charged up with bum scratches! Chica dreams of a large yard to roam and an abundance of social engagement from people or dogs! She has been unable to exercise at the capacity she needs and has subsequently both gained weight and lost a small degree of muscle mass in the hind legs. As she enters her twilight years, Chica will need a family who will assist her with loosing a recommended 3kg through a combination of careful dieting and an abundance of exercise. She has also suffered from a close call with a skin infection, requiring major surgery to remove the necrotic skin and as such has been left with some confronting scarring. She has fully recovered and with time, most of her fur will grow back however her new family will need to take precautions against sun damage to the exposed scar tissue i.e., wearing a light sun rash as pictured and some dog friendly sunscreen when going for walks.
Chica is a fan favourite around her usual walking trail and dog park and deserves a family who will spoil her with unconditional love and affection, she deserves it!

Some notes on Chica:
-poor off lead recall, however is very food driven and should be easy to teach.
-Chica can be possessive eating things like bones and does not like people touching her when she's eating them, this only applies to bones and not any other form of treat.
-Chica is not an aggressive dog, however her style of play and her bark may be confronting as she tends to look quite confrontational.
-She has a double coat and during summer or warmer days will struggle in the heat. Walking in the early hours or later at night is the only option for her otherwise she will overheat.

To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from our group. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
