About Gertie - 4 month old Labrador x (Trial 28/12)
Meet Gertie the 4 month old Labrador-Kelpie mix. She is black and brown with a stunning glossy coat distinguished by a star on her chest and white toe tips.
Gertie is an adorable young pup with a heart of gold and an insatiable zest for life. From the moment you lay eyes on her, her charming personality and wagging tail will fill your heart with joy.
Gertie is the perfect companion for any family, as her loving nature
ensures she forms an instant bond with everyone she meets.
Gertie has seamlessly integrated into her foster carer’s household alongside their 3-year-old and 5-year-old dogs. Gertie interacts well with both children and adults. She loves playing fetch with her foster family and chasing with her doggy foster siblings which is followed by relaxing and sleeping.
Gertie has a fondness for swimming she would be a great dog to take on aquatic adventures with you.
Gertie sleeps all night in her crate inside and her days outside, she is doing well with house training but has a few accidents so this training will need to continue in her forever home.
Gertie would be suitable for all kinds of forever homes. Her easy-going nature makes her adaptable to any home or lifestyle. She recently spent a day at a barbershop and interacted well with everyone she met. She gets along great with children and other
dogs, though has not yet met any cats, chickens or pocket pets.
We expect Gertie to grow to a medium size dog, the vet guesses around 20kg fully grown. She would love a doggy companion for company and a secure yard to play in. Kids over 5 would suit her best.
We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, training, and enrichment.
Gertie needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can’t to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Gertie’s adoption fee is $700 which includes her desexing when she is old enough. It also includes her first two vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped. Gertie is in foster care in Adamstown, NSW. Since she is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when she is 5 to 6 months old.
