About Eddie
Maltese Shih Tzu Senior Lovers!
SEEKING A FOSTER with a View to ADOPT EDDIE
We are looking for a Foster to Adopt in the South Eastern or Eastern suburbs of Melbourne
Now that we are getting Eddie's medical needs met, we would like to start looking for his forever home.
A Foster with a view to Adopt Eddie, so that he can begin settling in to his forever home, while we continue to get his vet work and medical needs addressed.
Eddie has already gone through two homes in his life, that we know of, so we want to make sure his next home is his forever home
Eddie is a 9 year old Maltese Shih Tzu who came into our care in very poor skin and health condition but with regular Medicated baths, and a healthier natural diet rich in supplements, his skin is looking and feeling better, his fur is also growing back, and he is looking stronger, walking better and for longer periods too, amazing what happens when we keep their nails clipped regularly!!
Generally Eddie is looking happier, and we can see him smiling 😁🥰
Eddie is a sweet, calm and very relaxed gentleman who is no fuss and easy to have around. Honestly, he is just so grateful to be receiving the help and care, that he will just let you do anything, whether it is grooming, nail clipping, or checking his ears. He's such a good boy. His forever humans will be lucky to have him.
He loves to potter around in the yard sniffing out all the different smells.
Eddie sleeps on his bed in the lounge room, although he has now taken to sleeping on his bed in the bedroom. He will sleep through the night
Eddie is toilet trained and knows how to use the dog door.
He is currently living with 2 large English Sheep dogs, and a cat. He loves the company of other animals.
So it would be wonderful if you have another calm mature dog or Dog savvy cat 🐈
Eddie is a beautiful easy going dog, no fuss, no mess, he just wants to chill and enjoy what life has to offer him.
Eddie is good in the car, and loves his walks. He was only able to walk Maximum 15 minutes when he first came into care, 4 weeks ago, and today he is wanting to walk even longer, 30 mins, he is becoming stronger each day
Eddie is Good with other dogs 🐶
Good with cats 🐈
Fed a natural diet to improve his health along with supplements to help improve his gut health, joints and general wellbeing
Eddie Loves his Lamby 🐑 stuffed toy 🥰
Would love a family who is home more often than not
Vaccinated, Microchipped ✅
What it means to be a foster carer:
As a foster carer you will need to drive Eddie to our partner vet in 📍 Malvern East where he is to continue his vet and medical care as required.
Eddie will need to be desexed, and have regular Medicated baths, twice weekly with Sebazole. This has helped improve his skin immensely
All Medical Expenses are paid by us during the foster period.
Medical Notes:
Eddie has a mass on his prostate - an ultrasound of the area was performed and was was clear of any cancer. Thank goodness. Vet advised desexing will improve and reduce the inflamation to the prostate. We are waiting on some test results relating to his kidneys. He is currently on antibiotics to treat a UTI, so slowly we are addressing his medical needs and we can see he is starting to feel and look better.
This little man has certainly been through alot but he is showing us just how resilient he is... he's a little battler
If you think Eddie is the right little man and fit for your home, and can HELP us rehabilitate and return his body condition and Health back to his former glory days please complete the FOSTER to ADOPT form below 👇

Medical notes
We do not have a diagnosis at this point, but Eddie came to us in very poor condition. His skin was leathery, nails were curled over, some hitting the skin, he had fur loss and lots of black heads all over his body, but regular medicated baths with Sabazole twice weekly, his skin condition has improved immensley, his fur is growing back and his health continues to improve
Eddie had some blood tests, and urine test. He had a UTI, which we are treating and need to do more blood tests to review the kidneys. Still a little unclear right now, with so much going on with Eddie, but slowly slowly we are getting there.
We can see he is starting to feel and look better.

Eddie also has a mass on his prostate - an ultrasound of the area was performed and was clear of any cancer. Thank goodness. Vet advised desexing will improve and reduce the inflamation of the prostate.
