This handsome boy is a lovely sandy brown colour
He knew nothing except how to wreak havoc when we first met. He has come far.
He has spent lots of time learning how to calm down
In moments of high excitement we have played a game I call “go find” It’s scattering 1/2 a handful of food in the grass so he has to sniff it out. He knows if you hold your hand up that you have food, and not to jump and to follow wherever he’s instructed. This calms him down and his excitement level decreases. He’s very responsive to food.

He knows lots of words well; obviously some he is far more responsive to than others.

Sit - he knows it
Back - he knows it
Leave- to the point where I can step away and he will leave his food until specifically told to eat. He’s got this one perfectly!
Down - he can still be jumpy and mouthy when excited. I continually push him gently away accompanied by AhhAhh, Back.
Up - knows it.
Come - excellent recall
Inside - knows it
Outside - knows it.
AhhAhh - knows it, very responsive
No - rarely have to go this far. I prefer to distract and encourage any type of praiseworthy behaviour.

He rarely barks
He is exceptionally dog friendly
He is confident cat friendly.
He loves to sit with you, leaning against you and looking deep into your soul. He tells you everything will be alright with those amazing eyes, even just for a moment he truly makes you believe
He loves the sound of you talking. Your tone of voice is extremely important when interacting with Meister.
He absolutely loves a massage and a butt scratch.
He even smiles when he is happy
He thinks sitting in chairs is a good place to be.
He walks beside you on lead.
He thinks jumpers and materials laying about make for a great game of I can steal this without you realising He knows what to do when you say leave and give.
He loves cows hooves and toys

This guy would thrive with a well adjusted older dog or a person who needs a loyal, loving companion.

He needs someone who is fully committed to his ongoing training. With love and kindness, repetition and patience he will come far.

Ideally in his new home he’d have a crate (unless you’re going to let sleep with you); keep him crated overnight for at least the first three months.

Toilet training is an ongoing issue. He’s not dumb or dirty though.

Meister can HARD MOUTH (not bite) when over excited. It’s not painful at all but I have an aversion to this behaviour. You know as he thinks of doing it, I can see it coming. If you’re quick enough AhhAhh is generally enough to stop him. If not, a genuinely fierce NO growl from you, accompanied by a stomp of the foot stops his nonsense. This is why I like “go find”. Being extremely food motivated it seems to be easier and less confrontational for both the handler and Meister

He still tries to climb up on me gently to have cuddles I do however discourage this. When I have been standing I may have been seen to give him a snuggle just because he climbed up so gently and he uses his eyes and is so damn cute

Yes I’m not denying it, at times he can be silly as anything However he is a nice dog and he does try to please. He loves hearing “good boy”…. I use it in a low level tone so as not to encourage any excitement
