About Mellow STA013132
Introducing Mellow, a handsome and gentle big boy with a heart full of potential. Mellow requires a bit of patience and understanding when acclimating to new surroundings. But once he's comfortable, he is a truly lovely companion. Though he's still working on building his confidence with humans, Mellow's desire to trust and form a bond is evident.
Mellow warms up with leisurely pats and ear scratches, slowly revealing his endearing personality. He has a particular fondness for these gentle touches, which provide an opportunity for you to connect with him as he becomes more at ease in his environment. While he does guard his food—a behavior common among many animals—it's a minor consideration that, with a bit of attention and understanding, can easily be managed.
Ideally, Mellow would thrive best in a quiet and serene home where he can have the space to relax and explore at his own pace. A home without children, dogs, or other cats is best suited for him, as this will provide the tranquility he needs to gradually come out of his shell. Mellow is a truly lovely guy who can grow into a loving family member. He just needs someone who appreciates his gentle nature and is willing to give him the time he needs to feel at home.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
