About Tadpole
Tadpole - A Sweet and Sensitive Soul Seeking a Forever Home
Tadpole is a 1-year-old male poodle with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. After a tough start in life, he’s making steady progress in his foster home, learning what it means to feel safe and loved.
This sweet boy can be nervous and doesn’t warm up to everyone right away, but when he does, he gives his whole heart to his chosen human. He thrives on forming deep connections and will become your most loyal shadow, following you around and showering you with love.
A Quiet, Calm Environment is Key: Tadpole would do best in a calm, quiet home where he can relax and feel secure. He’s most comfortable with another friendly dog to show him the ropes and provide companionship. A confident canine buddy will help him continue to build his courage and confidence.
Learning and Growing:
- Crate-Trained: Tadpole sleeps soundly through the night (7 PM–5 AM) in his crate, which he also uses as a safe space when he feels overwhelmed.
- Playful Spirit: He adores chasing squeaky toys, especially his squeaky ball and rope. Playtime brings out his joyful, carefree side, and he’ll happily fetch until he’s ready for a nap.
- Cuddly Companion: Once he’s tuckered out, Tadpole loves snuggling on the couch or curling up on your lap for cozy cuddle sessions.
- House Training: He’s doing great with house training, patiently waiting to be let outside every few hours and working on mastering the doggie door.
- Still a Work in Progress: Walking on a lead and exploring the outdoors are still new experiences for Tadpole, and he’s taking small, steady steps forward. With patient, positive reinforcement, he’ll continue to grow braver each day.
The Perfect Home:
Tadpole is looking for a family who understands his gentle, nervous nature and is willing to give him the time he needs to settle in. He needs someone who’s home often and can provide consistent companionship. Another dog in the home is essential to help him feel secure and to guide him as he adjusts.
If you’re ready to give this sensitive, loving boy the calm and caring environment he needs, Tadpole will repay you with endless affection and loyalty. Could you be the one to help Tadpole blossom into the confident, happy dog he’s meant to be?

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
