About Dixie
Dixie is truly a sweet girl!! She loves to rumble and tumble with her sibling but she also enjoys quality time with her humans. She has lived with two older dogs with whom she gets along with extremely well. She has also been introduced to younger children (two years of age) and demonstrated that she would make a great family pet with her patience and gentleness.
Dixie has learnt to use a doggy door, she is crate trained, and walks well on lead. Being a malamute X she will feel the heat so will need to have access to a cool shady area and maybe a shell pool to enable her to cool off in hot weather. She will also need good grooming as her coat grows. She will be a big girl so will also need you to be committed to obedience training while she grows and matures to adulthood.
Dixie is content with other dogs, humans, and even her own company. She will be fine to introduce to cats as she has such a gentle personality. She will make an excellent addition to a variety of homes.
It is a condition in our adoption agreement that all our dogs are to be taken through obedience training to ensure they reach their full potential.
IF YOU CAN TICK ALL THE BELOW BOXES, PLEASE POP IN AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR US TO CONSIDER.
• You have a secure yard.
• Dixie will not be alone for more than 6hrs.
• You will enrol Dixie in obedience training.
• You will allow Dixie to be part of the family and will allow her access to indoors with you.
• You WILL provide her with daily exercise AND mental stimulation.
Applications with extensive details on the lifestyle you will offer will be considered. Please provide the name of the obedience club you will be attending.

Our adoption process is as follows:
1) Animal is listed on PetRescue
2) Applications are received
3) The application which we feel offers the best-suited home to the pet is contacted for first preference of a meet and greet to see if they 'click' with the animal.
We do not follow a first-in, first-served process and only consider applications completed via our online form.
Due the popularity of some dogs - and the fact that our rescue is run entirely by volunteers - we cannot guarantee that all unsuccessful applicants will be notified, however we will do our best.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
