About Elsie
Meet Elsie, a bright, spirited dog with a heart full of love and an endless curiosity for the world around her!
This gorgeous little girl is clever, enthusiastic and sensitive. She learns quickly and tries hard, but sometimes her energy just bubbles right out of her and she dances around on her back legs. She even loves to greet her favourite people with a dance and song routine!
While her energy is contagious, Elsie knows how to relax during the day, happy to snooze as long as her humans are near.
Elsie loves nothing more than being close to her humans—she’ll happily follow you around or cozy up next to you (sometimes on top of you!) for some quality companionship. As such, she would do best with owners who are home often and she might also enjoy a calm, confident, and tolerant doggy friend, after careful introductions of course
All of her smarts and energy mean that Elsie can be quite the sensitive little soul, and at times she can find her current busy lifestyle a bit overwhelming. She dreams of a quiet indoor lifestyle in a semi-rural or rural environment, where she can enjoy the tranquillity of calm country walks away from traffic or tempting wildlife. She would love to share this life with emotionally stable, calm humans who can provide a steady, safe environment.
Elsie is quite the talker and would adore a human friend who's happy to engage in conversations with her. While she may bark occasionally to express herself, it's important to understand that not all barking is a sign of distress for Elsie. Like a kid coming home from a carnival, sometimes Elsie just has a lot to say about her day!
Elsie currently enjoys two leisurely walks a day, with some extra playtime in the afternoon—tug-of-war is her favourite! While she’s friendly with most dogs, she occasionally gets barky and excited around others, so a home committed to managing her behaviours and following vet guidance is a must. With Elsie, you’re not just adopting a dog—you’re welcoming a devoted, playful, and loving companion into your life.
To get things started on the right paw, Elsie's adoption fee also includes a training session with Elsie's Behaviour Veterinarian. This consultation will provide you with expert guidance to help Elsie transition into her new home and ensure a happy and harmonious life together.
Enquirers will also have the opportunity to learn more about Elsie's wonderful personality and ask any questions they may have during a pre-adoption tele-consult with our Program Behaviour Specialist.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
