About Cricket
Introducing Cricket, a cute little dog who is great company and a constant source of amusement. At three years of age, Cricket has outgrown any potential puppy naughtiness so your shoes and furniture are safe. It seems that Cricket didn’t have the best start in life; when he first came into care, Cricket would protect his ‘assets’ (e.g. food and bed) by snarling and growling. He didn’t like to be in confined spaces. However, within a week he had learnt to trust people and his sweet and affectionate personality emerged. Although he has not growled or snarled since his first week, as a precaution, he is not suitable to be adopted by a family with young children.
Mr C weighs about 7 kgs and has a beautiful soft coat which is lovely to stroke. He will nudge your hand to get pats and attention and he will jump on your lap when invited. He follows his carer around the house and loves to be near her. He also loves the company of men who he greets with enthusiasm.
Cricket sleeps soundly all night and only barks when a stranger approaches the house (a great watch dog) but settles when told. He loves to go for walks and is currently fostered with 3 other dogs, male and female, and he gets along with them all. He eats a variety of food and is not a fussy eater.
Although he is predominantly an inside dog, he is a typical Jack Russell who loves to explore the outside world. On a visit to a dog park, Cricket was friendly towards the other dogs but preferred to spend his time exploring the park more than engaging with the other dogs. However, this is not a dog to be left alone outside for long periods of time as he really loves the company of people he can trust. Cricket will benefit from having an adopter who is familiar with his breed and who is home more often than not; he is a great companion dog.
